Pondering with a Purpose - Skirt

Welcome to Pondering with a Purpose -
This is my weekly hop where I post a prompt and you get to write to it on your - come back here and add it to my linky and then we all get to go read what you wrote!
I started Pondering with a Purpose because -- simply put -- I am a writer - - that is what I do (I just can't help myself)! And although I love following all the hops, I wanted to see if I could bring out some creativity in not only myself, but some of my blogger friends as well.

The rules are really easy:

1. Grab the Pondering with a Purpose Badge (in my sidebar)
2. Look at the week's prompt
3. Post something on your blog that relates to the prompt - it can be a story, a poem, a picture -- anything you want it to be.
4. Come back here and add the URL from your post to the linky list below.
5. Go check out the other bloggers who have added their links to the list.
6. AND most of all.... Have fun!

Today's prompt is: Skirt

I know this word has sooooo many meanings...obviously the one that came first in my mind is what I am wearing right now (and almost everyday I go to work!)

And then of course who could forget the old tree skirt???

Or how about skirting the subject.... evading it.... avoiding it.... you know....

But here are a few more I did not even know before today:

a small leather flap on each side of a saddle, covering the metal bar from which the stirrup hangs.

to remove low-grade wool and foreign matter from (the outer edge of fleece).

to lie on or along the border of

I would love to read your take on the word...leave me a comment or link up your post...or better yet... Both!

Happy pondering

  1. I should have thought of the saddle skirts! I knew that-but I've never heard of the wool thing.

    1. I had never heard of either one of them!

  2. Learned something new today. Thanks!

  3. I hadn't thought about saddle skirts, shame on me being a true western girl.

  4. I killed my whole morning looking at skirts!

  5. so sorry I missed this last week. I wasn't "skirting" the task though -- something personal came up with the family and my time was needed elsewhere. hope to be back pondering with you this week.

Comments are a gift... thank you!
